Sarah and me!

Once again it's taken me for ever to post to blogland!  Guess I really don't think this place is real, hence the months between posts!!! Here is what happened in May ....

How fun is it to meet someone you only converse with by email or a quilt forum?   It's AMAZING!!
I drove to Espanola before returning to Sudbury on the the Victoria Day weekend just to meet Sarah.  She will be moving soon and thought I best get there before she does!

Sarah was the host with the mostest!  And such a charming person.  I think we hit it off right away...chatting about many things - quilting included of course!!  I was so happy that she took time out of her busy schedule in  getting her home ready for sale, and I was overjoyed that we would meet before she left.
We shared our work and then we had a blast trying to take pictures of ourselves.  What a wonderful couple of hours it was for me, sharing with another "Sloanie".

We both had our "Happiness Key" wall hangings ready to show each other and decided we would sign them as a reminder of our happiness in making this wonderful mystery project by/with Pat Sloan last year.

 I brought a  little gift for Sarah and knew this may be the first and last time I would meet with her due to her moving to Saskatchewan in August, and I thought this journal was only fitting for her at this time.



It says "Seize an opportunity every single day".

    I think I heard more from you last year when we were busy in the thick of the McCall's Contest...Love your Happiness Key quilt! That is great to sign each other's version.

    I hear you, Mary! I don't think my life has ever been this busy with work for this long! May have to rethink my decision to be working full-time! ☺

So, What's the Story behind this quilt?

The day of revealing "The Quilt" is now over for those following me on Facebook, and I made it but just barely though!  The quilt it now all bound and looks wonder, if I do say so! You  maybe wondering if there is any meaning/story behind this quilt I have been working so hard on for the past two weeks, and actually there is a lot of meaning in it.  Some things came to me as I went along; somethings with a whole of meaning.  You best go get a coffee/adult beverage - go head... Not Much Sewing

Unfortunately, work gets in the way of my passion.  My hobby - my sanction - my stress reliever.   Try as I might to change how things are - it just doesn't work out - the responsibility of the job is just too high and my morals will not allow me to be anything other than I am and always have been - reliable, responsible.  And take real pride in that!  But as my saying is to others "Suck it up buttercup and get over it." So what I will try to do is take 15 mins a day to sew or cut pieces for my passion and hopefully it will become a habit.  Did you know it only takes 21 days to form a habit?   So I'm going to test it....and hope I can make more "Me-Time" in doing so.   The next three months will be a huge challenge, but those of you who really know me - know that I work well with challenges and do conquer them with gusto!  So "suck it up buttercup" and let the challenge begin! It's Past Two Weeks!!!

OH , Yikes!!!  It's been just over two weeks since I last posted - one thing I was going to try and do every two weeks!   Dang-it-all, the time just flips right past yah if you are not careful to watch every second that goes by!! Anyway.... I'm here !! Right now I'm on some much needed downtime and enjoying my days sewing on UFO's.  I really don't care for that name.  But oh, man do I have UFO's!  Maybe I should find another name for those items that have been started and not finished!  (UnFinished Objects)  PIG's are Projects In Grocery sacs; WIP's are Works In Progress, but then again I could say all mine are that... right?   No, cause they really are not... some I have not worked on since 1998 - and I think there is one there that is every earlier than that!  In fact I'm positive it older than 25 years!  Thank heavens I used quality fabrics, (very rich for back then!!!) it just needs to be quilted!  I got it!!   PHD!  Yes, I remember that one
