Hello!!! It's me!

OH yes and winter is still here!  It's been a very weird winter.... if you can call it a winter as to me it really only arrived a week ago when the snow actually really got here.  But others say it's been here too long.  No matter, in 12 more days it will officially be spring and then the rains will start and people will compl... I guess there is no stop to the complaining of what type of weather we get, now is there?   For me, every day I make it out of bed is something to be happy about so I just go with the flow where the weather is concerned.

Primitive...but it works!!
On the sewing end of my world, I am finally finishing a UFO that has been in my pile for a few years. I machine quilted it myself and had a ball doing it.  I am now binding it in order to have it finished by Wed to show at my Quilt Guild meeting. Can I do it?  Time will tell!

This is how I set up to machine quilt this baby.  I saw something similar on someone's website about year ago (sorry I didn't keep the site) and kept thinking of it.   So with this quilt I tested it out and let me tell you it really worked AMAZING!!

Now when hubby came home from work he said "WHAT are you doing??"  I told him I was quilting.  "I can see that!  What is up with this?" as he points to the quilt hanging.  So I explain it to him and then he says, "Well don't they make something better than this for quilting that you can get?"  I stop quilting and look at him.  "Yes, they do."   "Well, why don't you get it?"  Oh boy, he's walking into this one and didn't even know it!  "Well it's about this long (as I stretch my arms) and this wide and it costs at least $10,000.00.  These $1.99 clips will work just fine.  Besides you said I can take up any more room in the basement!"  He just turned around and didn't ask any more questions.  LOL

Although my work has taken over most of the  free time I have, I still try to make time to stitch a few seams here and there.  I believe that soon I should have some of my "me" time back and I will start pumping out the UFO's and new projects, once again.  Until that time I will just dream of what I will work on first!

    I saw the hanging apparatus on the Film "Stitched" also on the "Free-Motion Project". Looks like you are making it work. Glad you see the end in sight! Wishing you the best on getting it completed in time for your mtg. I'm pulling a late night-er trying to find my cutting table and get my Civil War and 30's fabrics into their totes in a more organized manner.

    I think that looks like a great idea. My arms get so tired trying to keep the whole thing on a table or my lap or where ever.
    You totally should have ordered the $10,000 solution when he said why don't you get it. LOL

Unfortunately, work gets in the way of my passion.  My hobby - my sanction - my stress reliever.   Try as I might to change how things are - it just doesn't work out - the responsibility of the job is just too high and my morals will not allow me to be anything other than I am and always have been - reliable, responsible.  And take real pride in that!  But as my saying is to others "Suck it up buttercup and get over it." It's Past Two Weeks!!!

OH , Yikes!!!  It's been just over two weeks since I last posted - one thing I was going to try and do every two weeks!   Dang-it-all, the time just flips right past yah if you are not careful to watch every second that goes by!! Anyway.... I'm here !! Right now I'm on some much needed downtime and enjoying my days sewing on UFO's.  I really don't care for that name.  But oh, man do I have UFO's!  Maybe I should find another name for those items that have been started and not finished!  (UnFinished Objects)  PIG's are Projects In Grocery sacs; WIP's are Works In Progress, but then again I could say all mine are that... right?   No, cause they really are not... some I have not worked on since 1998 - and I think there is one there that is every earlier than that!  In fact I'm positive it older than 25 years!  Thank heavens I used quality fabrics, (very rich for back then!!!) it just needs to be quilted!...

So, What's the Story behind this quilt?

The day of revealing "The Quilt" is now over for those following me on Facebook, and I made it but just barely though!  The quilt it now all bound and looks wonder, if I do say so! You  maybe wondering if there is any meaning/story behind this quilt I have been working so hard on for the past two weeks, and actually there is a lot of meaning in it.  Some things came to me as I went along; somethings with a whole of meaning.  You best go get a coffee/adult beverage - go head... I'll wait for you! On June 3rd, our little town hosts a Relay for Life, where we walk for 12 hours (7pm - 7am) as a fund raiser for Cancer (see here for more info http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR?fr_id=8672&pg=entry ) Did you know there were this many ribbons?
